“The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.” Psalm 16:6 ESV
I am learning that there is no shame in lines.
I cannot fly, I cannot go back in time, I cannot go a day without crying.
These are my lines and they are good.
So I go to airports and meet interesting people. I am forced to shift my attention from the past to the Now. I learn how my tears bathe me, expel toxins and confusion.
I cannot skip work, I cannot learn French tomorrow, I cannot make my voice heard in the boys club.
I am inside the fences I need, to learn these particular things in Life School.
I keep going to the office to learn consistency, keep speaking to learn that a powerful voice will find ears.
When I stop resisting and receive what I am here to learn, I graduate to the next grade. I find new boundaries to push.
